Pilot Project was created as a purpose-driven, collaborative, and artistically curious brewing and tasting room facility to help support talented brewers in an industry with exceptionally high barriers. Pilot Project empowers the Milwaukee and Chicago communities through Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. PERIOD POVERTY. Recent studies have shown that approximately 1 in 3 people who menstruate in the United States cannot afford essential period products every month. This financial barrier leads to chronic school absenteeism, limits job opportunities, prevents sports participation, and poses potential medical concerns. While growing up, many families of color like mine didn't have frequent conversations that looked past their present. My notion of "legacy" came much later in eye-opening discussions with diverse groups of professionals, peers and news articles.

Although my discussions about legacy happened later than some, my takeaway was always, "How could I contribute to the larger conversation?"

The answer, I've found, is through my art.
