Join us at Coriole Vineyards for a Spring afternoon concert of local music from around the world with Pravah Trio, Yahya Hoseinkhani and Guitar Duo Alain Valodze and Mike Bevan.
Pravah Trio is Simon Gill on Sitar, Mahzad Fard on Tonbak and Daf, Tony Hole on Handpan. They are joined by special guest Yahya Hoseinkhani on the Iranian Ney.
Pravah creates contemporary improvised music drawing from the musical traditions of India, Iran and Europe ranging from intense, overwhelming, rhythmic explorations to soft, mesmeric, melody rich wanderings. www.pravah.au
Alain Valodze and Mike Bevan weave an intricate conversation between 6-string flamenco and 7 string Brazilian jazz guitar – a partnership forged over 40 years of playing together on stages around the world.
Mike Bevan specializes in jazz and Brazilian guitar, his music has been described as ‘sublime and romantic’. Alain Valodze is an expressive Flamenco guitarist playing music of ‘haunting beauty and buoyant rhythm’. The Duo first played together 40 years ago, and have recently been developing their music with a shared love of jazz improvisation.
