The Fleurieu Waldorf Education Association Initiative and Pygmy Possum Waldorf Playgroup invite you to delve into the wonder of Waldorf education and help us raise funds for our future school project

Workshops ~ Puppet Show ~ Market Stalls ~ Children's Activities (gold coin donation) ~ Food ~ Music

Ticketed Program - all ticketed workshops are Adults only (babes in arms welcome)

10:15am - 11:00am Josh Withers-Reed, Class 5 teacher at Willunga Waldorf School. The Impact of Storytelling - a discussion about the importance and impact of storytelling throughout a child's schooling journey.

11:30am - 12:00pm Stargold Puppets presents "The Elves and the Shoemaker" - Family Friendly

2:00pm - 2:45pm Kate McMurray, Waldorf Educator, Facilitator of Ashton Steiner Playgroup, Early Childhood Teacher and Founder of Mindful Family Life. - Truly connected parenting - discusses the benefit of being deeply present when we need to be. True connection nourishes us all.

3:00 - 3:45pm Robert Bickle, Retired Teacher, Member of the Anthroposophical Society. Music Education in the Waldorf School - a discussion of the theory behind music teaching through the years of Steiner Education and the importance of this approach

FWEA is a social deed. Our purpose is to educate children and young people to be powerfully equipped in becoming individuals who contribute to creating a more compassionate and fair society for all. We propose three domains of human social activity which should be kept independent and autonomous: economic, legal, and cultural. ~ The economic realm relates to how human needs are met. It is organised and carried out. in the spirit of brotherhood. ~ The legal realm is called the “rights” or “equality” domain. Its role is to establish and enforce policies to which each member of our community is equally accountable. ~ The cultural realm is about the cultivation and recognition of human capacities. Waldorf education focuses on a holistic model of addressing curriculum through the Head, Heart and Hands to achieve this; Waldorf curriculum emphasises learning through doing and incorporating art, music and handwork into daily rhythmic routines. More than merely developmental education, the true task and uniqueness of Waldorf education, is that it’s designed to awaken the capacities within the child, rather than merely thrust intellectual content upon them.
