Stellar South Asian Women Awards 2023

South Asian women are achieving phenomenal success yet when it comes to visibility, it’s never easy to find role models closer to home here in Australia.

Despite South Asians being one of the largest ethnic demographics in Australia it’s rare to see any real representation of South Asian women in mainstream media, in positions of leadership or in the community/non-profit space.

Australia’s Stellar South Asian Women series exists to change that narrative.This year, for the Stellar South Asian Women’s Awards is recognising women and non-binary folk who have made a difference in their community. The theme ‘It Takes A Village’ is an ode to the altruistic, collective nature of South Asian communities – we lift each other up as we lift ourselves.

Winners will be announced across 9 categories:
Arts & Culture, STEM, Business & Entrepreneurship, Sports, Global Impact, International, Journalism & Literature, Community & Advocacy & Content Creators.

Dress code: South Asian wear - re-wear, borrow, rent  & up-cycle. In the spirit of minimising our footprint let’s be conscious about our consumerism. If you’re struggling to find an outfit hit up our friends at Veira to hire an outfit.

This year's theme of our awards is 'It Takes A Village, which pays tribute to the collective nature of South Asian communities – we rise when we lift each other. 

In the spirit of that, we want to invite you to share who inspires you! Send us photos of the Stellar South Asian women in your life and tell us why you look up to them! Photos and stories to be exhibited at Awards Night*.
