Story Happy Hour by the Birrarung
Event description
Join us at Riverfest for a Yarra Story Happy Hour, the perfect gathering for river lovers and storytellers! Settle in for a fun, one-hour session of sharing your happiest tales. Whether it’s a childhood memory, a local legend or a recent riverside adventure, we’ll coax those joyful moments into words and celebrate our shared connection to the river.
This happy hour is brought to you by two people who have been told that they are not very good at many things over the years. Such as not eating all of the chocolate or remembering the name of that new movie that they wanted to see. But luckily, they are good at telling a story. And they are excited to help you do that too. Don’t have a story ready? No worries, we’ve got playful prompts and quick exercises to spark your inspiration. Come along, connect with fellow river enthusiasts, and build community through the power of storytelling!
Hosted by professional facilitators and storytellers Megan Davis and Yamini Naidu.

Acknowledgement of Country
The Yarra Riverkeeper Association acknowledges that the lands and waterways of the Yarra, Birrarung catchment, are the unceded territories of the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung and Bunurong peoples. We pay respect to Traditional Owners, who have, and continue, to care for Country. We acknowledge that the river now called Yarra has always been known as the Birrarung by its custodians.
