Storyweavers Salon: in conversation with Amy Han and Sarah Rosse

Storyweavers Salon is a space for adults who want to explore the ancient art of storytelling — whether you're an experienced writer, someone who has always wanted to write, or simply someone who loves a good story. This session, held during Mental Health Month, centres on the theme of Grief — the things we carry, the stories we tell to make sense of loss and letting go, and what it looks like to move forward without necessarily 'moving on'.

What to expect:

• Readings from Sarah Rosse and Amy Han, each sharing a short piece of writing that explores grief in their own way

• A guided creative writing exercise (no experience needed)

• Time to share and discuss around the theme

• Good conversation with a curious, welcoming community

• Light snacks and a hot/cold drink of your choice provided
  

About your hosts:

Amy Han is a writer, storyteller, and the founder of Words of a Feather — a creative writing studio based in Melbourne's eastern suburbs that has been nurturing storytellers of all ages for over 15 years. Amy creates spaces where people can develop their creative writing practice and be reminded that their stories matter. She is the author of middle-grade fiction novel The Yard Sale at Story House and A Field of Stars, a memoir about walking the Camino de Santiago.

Sarah Rosse is an author, speaker, journal coach, and mental health advocate from Gippsland, Victoria. Drawing on her lived experience supporting her son through a mental health crisis, Sarah is passionate about creating spaces where honest conversations can lead to healing, hope, and connection. She is the author of So, Who Are You Anyway? and volunteers with Kintsugi Heroes, facilitating community workshops that encourage storytelling and belonging. Through her writing, speaking, and 100 Conversations initiative, Sarah inspires others to embrace the power of sharing their stories and reminding people they are never alone.
