Class Description:

You can take great images with your Smartphone. Whether you would like to improve your travel images, or portraits of your kids, this is the class for you. In four weeks you will learn the power of your smartphone's camera and the techniques you need to create stunning images with it. Each week we will go over new concepts and do an in-class assignment. You will have an additional assignment to work on during the week.

• Week 1- The hidden tools of your smartphone
• Week 2- Light, it really matters
• Week 3-Composing the perfect image
• Week 4- Putting it all together, technical, light and composition. 

About the Artist: Laura Wessell

I am a local portrait photographer. I studied business at UNC Chapel Hill and studied photography at Randolph Community College. My photography career started when film was the medium we captured our memories on. I have watched the evolution of digital photograph and the amazing technology that most of us now carry in our pocket. More images are created today than ever before, but I would challenge that there aren't better images being created. I created a curriculum to teach students to take better images using their phones, by understanding the limitations and strengths of those devices, while incorporating the principals of art.
