Suburban Homesteading, Azure farm products, and local raw honey/beeswax products
Event description
Heidi Gleisner and her family has graciously invited us to meet at their homestead in Walnut Creek.
During our time together Hedi would like to share a bit about the animals we breed and raise on our little homestead, along with a buzzing apiary my son started when he was 12. (J Honey https://www.jhoney.farm/) Whether you live in an apartment, condo, or in the suburbs come see how you can start homesteading.
We will also learn how we use Azure - an independent supply chain that promotes health freedom, and sample some local raw honey.
Our family had some takeaways from 2020:
1. We were very far from being self-sufficient
2. We were under the false impression that you can only homestead if you have 10+ acres. When doors were closing on us to purchase land out of area, we learned to re-evaluate what we had to work with right in the East Bay suburbs.
Hedi is a drop point for Azure Standard and she invites use to learn about Azure Standard, an organic farm located in Oregon with an independent supply chain that distributes organic and non-gmo foods/beverages, garden supplies and starts, homeopathy/herbs/supplements, animal feed, household goods, clothing, and many other items. https://www.azurestandard.com/?a_aid=dffbb5b7de
Azure delivers every 28 days to local drops in: Pleasant Hill, Livermore, Benicia, Brentwood.
Most are aware of how fragile the big box supply chain has become, Azure offers an independent supply chain and distributes products for other small farms/homesteads. Anything sold by Azure must meet the following standards: https://www.azurestandard.com/azure-product-standards (list of banned ingredients)
We will start our meeting by sharing a potluck style meal, please bring a nutrient dense dish and eating utensils. This event is child friendly. Dress for being outside. Bring a hat and a water bottle.
The ground is uneven and sloped, and has stairs - so please wear good footwear.
