Emergency Services Panel: Who Does What During an Emergency?

When emergencies happen, it can be difficult to know which agency is responsible for what, where to find reliable information, and what support may be available before, during and after an emergency.

Join us for this free community information session featuring representatives from a range of emergency services, government agencies and community organisations. Through a facilitated panel discussion, you'll hear directly from the people involved in emergency response, relief and recovery across our region.

The panel will explore:

• Who does what during an emergency

• How agencies work together to keep communities safe

• What the community can realistically expect from emergency services

• How emergency warnings and information are communicated

• What support may be available after an emergency

• Practical steps you can take to prepare yourself, your family and your property

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and connect with agency representatives.

This event forms part of the Mount Alexander Shire Bushfire Recovery Team's ongoing community preparedness and resilience program following recent bushfires and extreme weather events.

This event is open to all residents, property owners, community groups and local businesses who would like to better understand emergency management and improve their preparedness for future emergencies.

The venue is wheelchair accessible. This event is free to attend and has been designed to provide clear, practical information in a welcoming, inclusive and trauma-informed environment.

For residents who are unable to attend in person, an online participation option will also be available, helping ensure this important information is accessible to people across the shire.

Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees.

Registrants selecting the online ticket option will be provided with a viewing link closer to the event.

Online participants will be able to watch the session live and submit questions to presenters via an interactive chat function. Questions will be monitored by the event facilitator and incorporated into the discussion where time permits.

This option is available for residents who are unable to attend in person and wish to participate remotely.
