Event description

Many biodiversity and conservation efforts are focused on areas of land that still hold tracts of native species; but what about the native species that live among those of us who rent or live in apartments and dorms?

This workshop presents realistic strategies and methods for engaging with conservation work with native species in urban spaces.

Join the Nature-Based Resilience and Nature-Based Climate Solutions research cluster at the Melbourne Biodiversity Institute, to learn about and strategise all the ways you can most strategically engage with native species conservation and nature-based resilience in the city. Whether it be Landcare, community gardens, engaging in land return to First Nations people, or learning which species would benefit from particular plants or structures on your balcony – we all have a part to play in connecting with Country on Country’s terms. Come with a mission and leave with a plan.
