SURFACITY walking tour with Chris Parkinson & Sabina Andron
Event description
Take a free walking tour guided by University of Melbourne urban researchers to discover how our cities are trying to speak to us — if only we’d stop and listen.
Artists and researchers Chris Parkinson and Sabina Andron explore the surfaces of our city as visual repositories of urban character, identity and culture.
On this walking tour, the artists will guide you through the neighbourhood to explore Parkville’s contested public images. Join the debate about the public space and ponder who has the right to contribute to the image of the city.
The 90-min tour starts and ends at MPavilion Parkville. You are welcome to share a cup of tea and join the discussion afterwards.
Access:
While every effort will be made to accommodate participants' mobility needs, please note that the tour will cover a distance of approximately 3km, some of it across uneven surfaces.
