    Event description

Sustainability when creating theatre sets and costumes is a big concern. Not only are we thinking about how to ethically (and cheaply) source things, but also what happens to sets and costumes after the show so they don’t just become landfill? How do you incorporate post-show planning into your design and build?

We all want to try and be as environmentally conscious as possible and making ‘green’ theatre should be everyone’s business, right? But where do you start? Join Christian Taylor from Sustainable Theatres Australia and chat through the fundamental principles of green theatre design as well as practical tips and an overview of some of great resources to take away (digitally, of course)!

Sustainable Theatre Australia is a collective of theatre makers and administrators who are passionately dedicated to the mission of creating a more sustainable Australian theatre industry. With a wealth of individual experiences and a combined enthusiasm to radically change the sustainability of an industry, the STA Team is dedicated to foster community, change and real, immediate action.

No experience is necessary to join this workshop  – it’s free and open to anyone regardless of skill level or the degree you are studying.
