WHAT TO EXPECT:

Each day will be begin at 9:30am - 5pm. Please arrive by 9:15 for a 9:30am start time. Attendees will begin in circle and then be moving in the space.

WHAT TO BRING:

Water bottle and please wear comfortable clothes to move in. Please leave shoes at the door.

FOOD AND DRINK:

Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will all be provided by your host. The ceremony grade Cacao on the Saturday and Blue Lotus on the Sunday will be prepared in accordance to the guidelines and ritual practices associated with these ancient ceremonies. It will be served warm in drinking vessels provided by us. Please bring your own water with you.

GETTING THERE:

There is street parking on the surrounding streets around the ELYSIAN HOLISTIC CENTRE - 66 Clark Rd, Neutral Bay but please be sure to check time restrictions.

CONSIDERATIONS FOR THE CACAO CEREMONY:

Cacao is a natural plant medicine grown from pods on trees. Drinking cacao is similar to eating dark chocolate but in high and rich doses it is important to be mindful in its use. There are a number of different types of Ceremonial Grade Cacao available, we choose to work with Keith's Cacao.

Please notify us if you have a serious heart condition. The theobromine in cacao increases heart rate significantly and is a vasodilator, lowering blood pressure. If you have such a condition, consider consulting a physician and certainly go lighter on amounts.

MAOI based anti-depressants are contraindicated with the tyramine in chocolate, so a larger dose of cacao is not recommended. MAOI based anti-depressants are first generation anti-depressants and are less common these days. People taking them are on a restricted diet that includes limiting or avoiding chocolate, so they should know if they can consume or not. Side effects could include more serious headache and nausea, so make sure to check medications first.

Pregnancy & breastfeeding. Like coffee or tea, it is important to reduce the intake of stimulating foods. The theobromine in cacao, which is very similar to caffeine, has a stimulating effect.

It is not recommended that you drink alcohol immediately before or after Ceremonial grade Cacao or Blue Lotus.
