WHAT TO EXPECT
We'll be starting the day with a coffee from Caffe Q's before catching the iconic Manly Ferry (Ferry price not included in ticket) from Circular Quay, admiring the incredible harbour views as we make our way to the start of the walk.
The Manly to Spit Bridge Trail is a must-do for any visitor to Sydney, offering stunning coastal scenery, rich history, and a diverse natural environment. The 10-kilometre walk takes you along dramatic cliffs, through lush bushland, and past secluded beaches with panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and the Pacific Ocean. Along the way, you’ll pass picturesque spots like Chinamans Beach and Clontarf Reserve, where you can stop for a swim or picnic. As you journey through, you’ll also get glimpses of Sydney’s iconic harbour, with opportunities to spot local wildlife, including dolphins and birdlife, and enjoy peaceful, less crowded perspectives of the city.
The trail is not just about the views—it's also an opportunity to connect with the area’s Aboriginal heritage, with ancient rock engravings and cultural sites along the route. You’ll cross over the Spit Bridge, a Sydney landmark, and pass through tranquil areas like Gore Cove, where the lush landscape feels worlds away from the busy city. Whether you’re an avid hiker or simply looking for a relaxing day outdoors, the Manly to Spit Bridge walk is an unforgettable way to experience Sydney’s natural beauty and diverse landscapes.
The trail is roughly 10km however we'll continue across Spit Bridge (roughly 1km more) and catch public transport back into Sydney CBD. It should take around 7.5 hours to complete depending on our pace and we will gather at a pub afterwards (location TBA) for a drink and possibly dinner.
It is recommended you bring your bathers as there's a very high chance Dan will be swimming and the water will be beckoning!
All ages and fitness levels are welcome to this event. The walk is mostly flat and on concrete footpaths though there is some distance to cover.
This walk is a real showstopper boasting some of the best views Sydney has to offer!
