Te Tapeke: Why fairness matters - AUCKLAND

Event description

Explore issues of fairness, equity, and equality in Aotearoa New Zealand with experts from a Royal Society Te Apārangi panel.

Join constitutional rights expert and author Andrew Erueti; specialist in moral and political philosophy Krushil Watene; Professor of Counselling, Human Services, and Social Work Jay Marlowe; and social scientist and Director of the Centre of Methods and Policy Application in the Social Sciences Barry Milne for a facilitated discussion about fairness in Aotearoa.

How can we prompt New Zealanders to think about what fairness means for them? Can we ensure that all citizens have the capacity to live fulfilling lives, while recognising our unique and important differences? What might be needed to secure a fair future for following generations? And how do we balance competing responsibilities in society and the natural environment so as to ensure a fair and sustainable future for all? These ideas and more will be explored. Register now for this free event.
