In-Person Te Tiriti o Waitangi Workshop in Ōtautahi Christchurch hosted by Dr. Hana O’Regan.
We are honoured to have Dr Hana O’Regan ONZM (Kāi Tahu, Kāti Māmoe, Waitaha) join us for Feast Matariki 2024.
Dr Hana O'Regan is an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her contribution to the revitalisation of Te Reo Māori and education over the last 30 years. She is the current chief executive of Tātai Aho Rau Core Education, which promotes equity in education and the general manager of Oraka - Wellbeing at Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, and one of the founders of her iwi's language revitalisation strategy, Kotahu Mano Kāika. She was a member of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority's Māori Advisory Board and has held many positions across education, Māori development, national identity, Treaty rights and policies, and health. Dr O'Regan was appointed to the Waitangi Tribunal in 2021.
For anyone who is yet to hear her speak, she is an incredible communicator and we are honoured to have her with us for an inspiring evening. Hana has been hugely influential and supportive of Eat New Zealand including gifting the name for our Eat New Zealand Kaitaki kaupapa.
