TEA MEDITATION
Event description
Come as you are.
This is an invitation to rest.
Tea is an offering. A welcome. A language without words.
The leaf is a connection. To Land. To Culture. To Self and Community.
.
Tea Meditation
Join us for a meditative practice of Gong Fu Cha, a traditional Chinese tea brewing method that emphasises our connection to Nature and the Seasons.
Share a slow, meditative cup and embark on a journey of tranquility and sensory awakening.
Be transported to an ancient tea house - a third space - where all are welcomed with compassion and respect.
Practised as a gentle, moving meditation, Gong Fu Cha offers a soulful way to rest within ourselves.
.
What to expect
Pause in a guided meditation. Grounding through the 5 senses to ease the body.
Sight, sound, smell, touch. And with tea, the final sensory grounding of taste.
Nourish. Explore tea that is carefully curated and matched with the Season. Using the ritual of Gong Fu Cha brewing, each infusion invites us to explore the evolution of the leaf.
Small vessels are used to mindfully imbibe scent, colour, texture, sound and flavour.
The blossoming of the leaf is savoured slowly.
Rest. Trace the journey of the leaf through silent conscious drinking. A restful pause for both the body and mind.
Cultivate. Through this meditative practice, invite a reconnection...
To Self, through the quietude of tea. To Nature, through the leaf. To Community, through culture.
You may choose to continue to sit in quiet solitude. Or you may choose to converse in gestures or words. As the tea flows, the choice is yours.

Location
Hold Space Studio is located in Dee Why, on the Aboriginal lands of the Gamaraigal and Gadigal people. I am grateful to share my cultural practice on these lands, and I respectfully bow to the Traditional Custodians of these lands that were never ceded. To Elders past and present, to communities still here, and I acknowledge their living connection to Country, culture and spirit. I extend that respect to solidarity - to uplift and listen.
Thank you to @hold_space_with_becc for the space to be held safely.
