Event description

A wellbeing retreat experience for teachers to allow you to reset, recharge and reconnect.

The last three years have added a great deal of complexity and uncertainty to our everyday lives.

This has compounded for those working in human services, particularly in the education setting.

This workshop is intended to allow you to take a breath - literally.

Take this time to connect to yourself, to what is important to you and to our natural world in the leafy and peaceful Adelaide Botanic Garden.

Our intention is to create the conditions that allow you to do this in meaningful, practical and safe ways.

Sean Lappin from Connected Self and Dana Shen have partnered to provide this wellbeing retreat experience developed specifically for teachers and educators.

Sean and Dana both have extensive experience in a range of human services contexts and have also studied and practiced mindfulness.

Dana is a First Nations Ngarrindjeri Chinese woman with certification in Mindfulness Meditation Teaching.

Sean brings a long history of supporting those within human services to care for their wellbeing, and reduce the impact of vicarious trauma, with certification with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy.

This workshop will benefit anyone in the education space, including leadership looking for ways to support their staff.

Leave with simple and fun wellbeing tools to imbed in life inside and out of the classroom and into your work with children and young people.

This professional learning session will support you in demonstrating the following AITSL Australian Professional Standards for Teacher:

1.1 Physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics of students
6.2 Engage in professional learning and improve practice
6.4 Apply professional learning and improve student learning
7.4 Engage with professional teaching networks and broader communities

A certificate will be provided with 7-hours professional development credit.

Light morning refreshments, lunch and complimentary parking (Hackney Road and Plane Tree Drive) will be provided.
