Teens and Beyond - Mon 12 May 7.00pm
Event description
Join ACD for Teens and Beyond, a three-part online workshop series for parents of teens with disability aged 13+.
Your child's teenage years include secondary school adventures, puberty, and growing independence. As a parent, you play an important part in helping them identify their strengths and aspirations and supporting them to make decisions. It's a time of huge change, and so each 2.5-hour session focuses on a different area and will give you information to build the knowledge and skills you need to navigate this time confidently.
Each workshop consists of three consecutive sessions over three weeks:
- Monday 12 May 7:00 pm
- Monday 19 May 7:00 pm
- Monday 26 May 7:00 pm
All workshops are led by professional facilitators who are parents of young people with disability and who have personal experience in navigating the teenage years.
This workshop looks at:
- Financial support
- Building your teen’s independence
- School and post-school options
- Wellbeing: friendships, communication, behaviour support and good mental health
