Life, Sex + Death: Temple of Impermanence
Description
This Temple Weekend is an invitation to fall in love with the reality of each other's, and your own, imperfections and impermanence. Yes, you will die. But also yes, you get to live, now.
Blessing every place the years have touched you. Feeling it all at once ~ the admiration, the longing, the grief ~ and under all of it, a strange ecstasy.

The Experience
We face the reality of our impending death and let her call us into presence. We own that we are dying and being reborn every day. The only way to crack our hearts open to loving more is to die. This is the journey of the Temple of Impermanence: to go into the grief portal on purpose, together, and let it crack us into the freshness of thank god I'm alive.
Sitting across from someone you love, or someone you just met… looking with the eyes of impermanence… knowing you don't get to keep her, or him, or any of them. You only get to adore them while they're here, now. There is nothing to hold on to, so there is everything to offer. With your eyes, your hands… blessing every place that time has touched. Kissing the scars, caressing the folds. Letting the ache and the avoidance become ecstasy. Nothing here is yours to keep, and everything here is yours to love.
Does the tree cling to dear life as the mushroom consumes it? Does the rock invent cosmetics to hide that the wind has kissed it for centuries? The tree, the rock, their body, mine, yours, a history of life, old forms making way for new. We can resist all of it, or ride the whole tsunami with delight.
Rattle the cages of the whole project of you. Are you who you think you are? As you go porous, the trees, the stars, the breath of the one beside you ~ everything turns precious. This one body. This one weekend.
We all get to be death doulas ~ to our old ways, our aging bodies, our breaking hearts. The more intimate we become with death, the more we want to double, triple, quadruple our commitment to this one precious life. Impermanence is a gateway to adoring each other and ourselves. We invite you to discover new templates for how you want to love and be loved.
If something in you is ready to die before you die, and find out how alive you're actually willing to be, we'd love to hold this with you.
Our Approach
We celebrate our messiness and transmute it into gold through our life force and eros.
Four pillars shape the work of the weekend:
Alchemy of Terror: Fully feeling our impermanence is genuinely terrifying, so most of us flinch and build our lives around avoiding it. We let heartbreak terrorize us instead of letting it make love to us. We practice turning toward that terror instead of away from it, from the cracks, a gushing river opens into vaster rings of love.
Turning Toward the Charge: Our most guarded places — unfelt anger, grief, shame — hold the most charge. When we let life back into them, the numbness transmutes into aliveness.
Death of the Self: Beyond the body and the heart is our grip on who we think we are. Sex gives us a sip of this dissolving ~ the self disappearing as you vanish into another, a rehearsal for the larger letting go. We use the container to loosen that grip further, so something wilder and freer can stand up for what it loves.
An Impermanent Civilization: Avoidance of death shapes everything we build ~ empires, fortunes, legacies. Facing our own impermanence, together, opens the door to real humility, care, and collaboration.
This Immersion Is For You If
You have real experience with spiritual and/or sexual journey work, and are ready to go into its depths.
You want to practice loving with open hands, knowing there's nothing to hold on to and so everything to offer.
You're craving a container that moves slow enough to actually let you feel, rather than perform.
You're curious about facing mortality and eros together, and want to explore it in a grounded, embodied way.
You're willing to look at someone you love, or your own mirror, with the eyes of impermanence.
You're ready to bless the places in yourself you've been hiding or hurrying past.
You're willing to prepare yourself before you arrive ~ something is already rooted in you before you walk through the door.
