Printmaking Term - 6-week course
Event description
In this 5 weekday evenings class, Emilie will teach you everything to get
started and be autonomous in relief printmaking. You will learn to
carve and print with lino, woodblock and rubber, all of which are part
of the fun family of relief printmaking (big stamps!). We will learn how
to add colour to our prints, by experimenting with reduction linocut,
chine-collé and multi-plate prints. Finally, we'll print tote bags
to discover the potential of textile printmaking with modular stamps
creation! No experience required!
At Couleur we offer small classes of 6 students maximum so you get all the attention you need to get started on your printing journey !
Emilie will teach you the basic principles of relief printmaking through a hands-on approach. You'll learn to design for print, carve, ink and print your first small edition. Emilie's classes are fun, engaging and adapted to your level !
No experience required. Complete beginners welcome !
What you get:

- Everything you need to print (carving tools, lino/wood & rubber plates, papers, inks, roller and printing barren)
- you own limited editions of prints (2 linocut prints, 3 Japanese woodblock prints, 3 reduction linocut prints, 3 multi-plate print, two rubber-stamps and prints and one tote bags printed with rubber stamps. Keep at the plates and stamps and print more at home!)
What to bring:
Clothes you don't mind getting dirty! Everything else is provided!

Monday 4th of April - 6pm - 8pm : Japanese woodblock and a little printmaking history.
Monday 11th of April - 6pm - 8pm : Reduction Linocut – add colours to your prints!
Monday 18th of April - 6pm - 8pm : Multi-plate : add colours to your prints !
Monday 25th of April - 6pm - 8pm : Stamps & Patterns
Monday 2nd of May - 6pm - 8pm : Textile printmaking
