Test Garden - Talks - December
Event description
Come along to the Test Garden to see the new sculptural installation, Compressions, and hear from artist Francis Carmody and ecologist Dr Dean Schrieke.
Reflecting on their collaboration through the Melbourne Arts Precinct Plant Trials at The University of Melbourne’s Burnley campus, the two will explore how an artistic and scientific practice share ways of thinking through materials and systems.
Looking at how research unfolds in the lab and in the studio, from controlled experiments to more intuitive forms of making, this conversation opens up the shared ground between artistic and scientific workflows, asking what each can learn from the other in understanding change, growth and adaptation.
Arrive at 10am to grab a free coffee for a 10.30am start
These events are held outdoors in the Test Garden. Please bring a hat and water bottle
The Test Garden is located next to the Fed Square Car Park (Wilson Parking) on the Russell Street Extension
