📢 Join us for our Second Forum on Ethics in Digital Technology! 🌐

We are thrilled to share that we are bringing you our annual forum on "EthiTech" for the second year in a row

Together, we aim to address the critical issue of ethics in the digital world and explore ways to prioritize and protect human rights as technology continues to shape our future.

🌟 Why Attend? Our primary goal is to establish a dedicated working group that will actively promote a counter-narrative focused on the impact of technology on human rights. This forum is of immense value to policymakers, technologists, human rights activists, and industry leaders who share a common concern about the lack of representation and influence on how digital technology and our data shape our future.

🤝 Who We Are: We are advocates for EthiTech, a technology that is designed and developed with a strong focus on respecting and upholding human rights. We are a passionate community that connects technologists, digital rights groups, policy makers, tech companies, advocates from around the world, to build ethical practices for tech in pursuit of a humane digital world.

🎯 Our Goals:

  1. Ethical Lobbying: Lobby against unethical practices by tech companies that infringe upon human rights through strategic counter-lobbying and exposure.
  2. Educational: Developing the EthicTech handbook/training to guide tech companies and tech startup founders in prioritizing ethical practices. Calling upon universities and educational institutions to mandate Ethics as an integral subject within all computer-related degree programs. Empowering the public by raising awareness about their digital rights.
  3. Ethical-By-Design framework: Developing a framework that promotes responsible tech development and deployment.
  4. Global Commitment: Proposing the creation of the Universal Declaration of Digital Rights, designed for endorsement by UN members as an extension of the existing Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
  5. Advocacy: Urging tech companies to implement guardrails that rigorously evaluate the human rights impact of their technologies (Human Rights Impact Assessment).

🍽️ Monthly Social Lunch: Additionally, we will be hosting a social lunch every month at the Reactor (located on L10, 11 York St, Sydney) to bring together our awesome techies and build a strong and supportive community.
