W13 - The Art of Nature & Wellbeing: Making Paints & Inks from Natural Pigments
Event description
Saturday 16th September 2023
10:00am to 12:30pm
16+
Max participants: 12
Workshop Code: W13
An opportunity to slow down. This workshop invites you to be curious, have fun and explore how to make tempera, water-colours and inks using natural pigments. Think rocks, charcoal, paprika, coffee, flower petals, tea, berries etc… Create your very own unique painting materials that are also friendly on the environment. Experience scents, textures and colours that will stimulate your senses, then explore through painting and reflection. An opportunity to deepen your connection to the natural world and to yourself through mindful practice. Time will also be available for journaling and sharing. Suitable for adults (but will also have some great ideas to take home to the kids!).
Please note in case of allergy: eggs will be used in part of this workshop.
Your facilitator, Briony, brings an empathic person-centred and trauma-informed approach to all her work. She enjoys creating supportive and nurturing spaces for people to explore their creative selves. She is also deeply passionate about exploring artistic practice as a way to deepen our human connection to the natural world. Briony finds eco-art and collage (including through the digital process) particularly inspiring and loves exploring different materials and processes. She believes that we are all ‘artists’ within our own lives, and that by expressing ourselves creatively, we continue to nourish our mental, physical and spiritual well-being.
