How to read a tree and tree characteristics
This 2-hour workshop is based on arboriculture principles that will change the way that participants look at trees forever. The first 1.25 hr will be learning the principles and then the next 45 minutes we will go and look at trees to further discuss and observe the principles outlined in the workshop. Topics such as compression and tension wood will be discussed.

Cost: $10 per person - Please note this does not include a Maleny Wood Expo Day Pass, please purchase this separately.

What to Wear and things to bring:
Comfortable closed in walking shoes and sun protection for going outdoors.

ABOUT SITARA GARE
Sitara Gare has worked in SE QLD as a horticulturalist, an arborist and an urban forester for the past 20 years. She has been certified with the International Society of Arborist since 2009, is a Editorial board member of the magazine City Trees (Urban and Community Forest Society) since 2018 and comes from a long line of tree lovers. Sitara is passionate about sharing her tree knowledge with others so that they expand their understanding of how trees grow and thrive so more trees can live a healthy long life.
