Description

Most of us long for connection - yet intimacy can also feel tender, risky or complex. Old experiences, cultural messages, grief, shame or protection-patterns can shape how close we allow ourselves to be with others.

This experiential psychodrama workshop offers a respectful space to explore:
• closeness & distance
• trust & vulnerability
• boundaries & self-protection
• emotional safety
• love, friendship & belonging
• the parts of us that reach out - and the parts that withdraw
Psychodrama is a creative, embodied group process that supports insight, connection and growth. It is not acting - and you will always be supported to participate at your own pace.

This workshop is suitable for people new to psychodrama as well as those with experience, and is open to people of all genders, cultures and orientations.

If you’re wanting to develop healthier, more authentic and life-giving relationships - with yourself and others - this may be a meaningful place to begin.

FAQs

  • What is psychodrama?

Psychodrama is an embodied, relational method that uses creative action to explore life themes, relationships, and inner experience in a supportive group setting. It’s not “acting” - it’s an experiential process that supports insight, connection, spontaneity, and growth.

  • Do I need experience?

No. The workshop is suitable for people completely new to psychodrama - as well as those with previous experience.

  • Is this therapy?

It is a self-development workshop rather than therapy or formal training. People often experience deep therapeutic benefit — but the focus is on growth, connection, creativity, and increased spontaneity in life.

  • How many people will be there?

    Between 8-12 participants (maximum 16).

  • Does this count toward psychodrama training?

Participation in experiential psychodrama workshops like this contributes to the entry requirements for those interested in Psychodrama Australia training programs. Please check directly with the Sydney Campus to confirm.

  • What if I feel nervous?

That’s completely normal. The workshop is carefully paced, gently facilitated, and grounded in respect, safety, and choice.

  • Is this workshop about sexual intimacy?

No. This workshop explores intimacy in the broader sense - how we relate, trust, connect, protect ourselves, set boundaries and allow closeness in our relationships (including friendships, family, work and partner relationships). There is no sexual content or explicit material.

  • Will I have to share personal details about my relationships?

No. Participation is always invitational. You will be supported to take part at your own pace and choose what - if anything - you wish to share.

  • What if I feel overwhelmed or emotional?

That’s very normal when working with themes of closeness and connection. The workshop is gently paced and carefully held, and you will always be supported to take a break, slow down, or talk with the facilitator if you need to.

  • Can couples attend together?

Either is fine. Some people choose to attend alone so they can focus on their own process. If you’re considering attending as a couple, feel free to contact me and we can talk it through.

  • Is this inclusive of different genders, cultures and sexual orientations?

Yes - people of diverse identities and lived experiences are welcome. Respect, safety and care for one another are central to the workshop.
