The Curious Mum: Mums Who Make (A Baby Friendly Creative Morning)
Description
Have you ever wished you had a little more time to create, reflect, or simply make something just because you enjoy it?
I created The Curious Mum after searching for a community where I could discuss books, explore new ideas, embrace creativity and connect with like-minded mums — all while bringing my baby along.
Mums Who Make is a relaxed, baby-friendly creative morning for mums with babies and young toddlers (approximately 0–3 years), with a little journaling, conversation and time to work on something creative of your own.
Mums-to-be welcome!
You don’t need to consider yourself “creative” or be good at anything. This isn’t a class or workshop — it’s simply some protected time to make, experiment and enjoy creating alongside other mums.
What to Expect
✍️ A little guided journaling
We’ll start with a few optional prompts and some quiet time to reflect.
🎨 Time to make
Bring along a creative project you’re already working on or something you’ve been wanting to try — sketching, crochet, knitting, embroidery, hand sewing, journaling, collage, watercolour or whatever you enjoy.
🧶 No project? No problem!
I’ll bring a few simple creative materials so you can make something on the day.
☕ Conversation & connection
This is intentionally relaxed. Make, chat, tend to your baby, grab a coffee and join in as much or as little as you like.
👶 Babies welcome
Feeding, crawling, contact naps, nappy changes, interruptions and little ones wanting to investigate what we’re doing are all part of it.
What to Bring
We’ll meet in the outdoor area of Queen’s Park Kitchen, under the umbrellas or on the grass beside the café, depending on the weather.
Please bring:
A picnic rug or blanket
A notebook/journal and pen if you have one
A creative project and any materials you need (optional!)
Anything you or your baby may need during the morning
Coffee or snacks can be purchased from the café
A Few Housekeeping Notes
This is a relaxed, community-led gathering rather than a facilitated art class or workshop.
Please supervise your own child at all times. Every parent remains responsible for the care and safety of their little one throughout the event.
Babies may feed, sleep, play, cry or need changing — that’s all part of the morning.
Please be mindful of others and help us create a welcoming, respectful environment for everyone.
If your plans change, I’d really appreciate you cancelling your registration so another mum can attend.
