The ENM DNM
Event description
Being ENM brings with it challenges and rewards unlike any other relationship structure. With that being the case, we can often find that our supports are limited and our community small (yet beautiful). This is a space where we can learn from each other and share our experiences—and who knows, you may even learn something new about yourself. Here’s hoping!
What to expect:
• In the session, we will acknowledge the stolen lands we meet on, get involved in group discussions, and perhaps even play a fun game to get us all comfortable with each other.
• The group is capped at 10 people to ensure everyone has space to speak and feel supported. Clear ground rules and expectations are in place to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
• Be aware the facilitator is in the ENM community If their presence at social, private, or public events would make you uncomfortable, we recommend not attending the support group.

Welcome to the ENM Support Group – Social Script for Attendees
Before the Session Starts:
When you arrive, there will be a few minutes for informal small talk. You can introduce yourself however feels comfortable, and the facilitator will welcome you to the space, showing you where the facilities are, including tea and coffee facilities, the toilet, and the seating area.
Physical Space:
In the group, you have the option to choose where you’d like to sit. The aim is for you to feel at ease in the environment, so you’re welcome to make yourself comfortable.
Session Introduction:
Once the session begins, the facilitator will go through the ground rules for the group. After that, each person will be invited to introduce themselves, sharing their name and pronouns if they feel comfortable. Occasionally, the facilitator may ask what brings you to the group, but you are not obligated to answer this if you prefer not to.
Sharing Process:
The session will start with the facilitator inviting anyone who wishes to share. This is your opportunity to talk about any challenges, successes, or experiences related to ENM. Once you’ve finished sharing, you can ask the group for specific types of support—whether that’s advice, shared experiences, guidance, or validation.
Not everyone is required to share, and it’s perfectly fine to come just to listen and learn from others’ experiences.
Respectful Listening:
While someone is sharing, we ask that others remain silent and do not ask questions. This allows the person to share fully without interruptions. The group is a supportive space where listening is a key part of the process.
After the Session:
Once the session ends, the facilitator will pack up the chairs, and there will be another five minutes or so for informal small talk. During this time, you’re welcome to ask the facilitator any questions or chat with other attendees as we wrap up.
