    Event description

    TRAMP - approximately 30km and over 1600m of elevation gain

    Start time: 6:20am (shuttle leaving from The Store Tai Tapu) 6:35am (White Rabbit formerly The Blue Duck) or 7am meet up at Kaituna Valley start.
    Cost:$35 (includes shuttle)
    Restricted to just 13 participants

    Join Rod Donald Trust Co Chair Jenn Chowaniec and ultra athlete/all-round nice guy Darren De Groot for this epic adventure across the tops.
    This 30km-plus day hike will be a big adventure and suitable for people who are keen for a challenging but rewarding adventure.  You should be comfortable with extended day hikes of 6- 8 hours covering decent elevation gains (approx 1600m cumulative). The views and adventure will be worth the effort 100%
    You will need to carry enough water (2-3 litres) plus warm and wet weather clothing in your pack. 
    A mandatory gear list and meetup information will be sent prior to the event and packs will be checked before heading out to make sure everyone is prepared.
    Transportation for this event is being sponsored by Christchurch tour company Tuatara Tours.

      A detailed information sheet will be sent to all participants the week before the event with instructions for where to meet and what to bring.

      **Walks canceled by the Festival due to weather related incidents or factors beyond our control (road closure/slips) are eligible for a 60% refund only. Walks canceled due to guide unavailability are eligible for a full refund (minus the Humanitix fee). There will be no rescheduling of canceled walks and refunds will not be available to people who cancel out of a walk. Please let the organiser know as soon as possible if you cancel out of a walk at bpwalkingfest@gmail.com
