Shelley Short
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, alt-country chanteuse Shelley Short creates atmospheric, deeply expressive music shaped by vintage country, honky-tonk and postmodern roots.
Shelley began writing and performing original songs in Portland before becoming a fixture of the city’s live music scene. Her acclaimed catalogue includes Oh Say Little Dogies Why? and Captain Wild Horse (Rides the Heart of Tomorrow)—records that established her singular approach to Americana and roots music.
With a voice and songwriting style that feel both timeless and entirely her own, Shelley brings an intimate performance steeped in honesty, character and old-world charm.
Ivy Ross
Ivy Ross is a songwriter and recording artist crafting a whimsical blend of inspiring folk-rock. Known for her eccentric storytelling, playful acoustic rhythms and surprising harmonies, she finds beauty, heart and humour in life’s unexpected detours.
Her forthcoming seventh full-length album, The Roadrunner at the End of the Road, is a truly international collaboration featuring musicians and bandmates from around the world. Its songs move effortlessly between deep introspection, two-stepping energy and pure joy.

- Will tickets be available at the door?
These events have historically sold out before the event date. Tickets are limited to a small intimate crowd. Its highly unlikely unless we have cancelations last minute.
- BYO?
Yes! We are not licensed to sell alcohol. So you are welcome to BYO
- BYO food?
No, the space is too small to accommodate BYO food. We have small bar snacks available for purchase, and we recommend eating beforehand. There’s a great Indian restaurant just downstairs, Tandoori Flames.
- Parking
Public parking is available in the Pearl Lane car park, a short walk from The Nook. We ask that patrons avoid using the Cooroy Village Shopping Centre car park so there’s enough space for the restaurants downstairs.
- What does 13+ mean?
Our 13+ shows are open to teenagers aged 13–17 when accompanied by a responsible adult. The Nook is not a licensed venue, however it is BYO, so alcohol may be consumed by adults. These events are primarily geared towards adult audiences, so some performances may include mature themes or language, but the focus is always on live music.
