You're invited to join us for 

THE PLANTING! 

to help rejuvenate Kingsley Headland, Boat Harbour

A great opportunity at this scenic spot for the next stage in helping repair the environmental damage. The Friends of Tomaree NP and community supporters been removing bitou and other highly invasive weeds over the last 12 months. The improvement and vistas are immediately apparent. Now we’re ready to enhance the margins with some native coastal plants.

What better way to meet up with other caring people outdoors in this fantastic environment. 

What to expect 

Saturday 15 April 2023 morning

Sign in

8.10am

Welcome, overview and into it!
(This first session we’ll prepare the specific areas targeted for planting, removing small weeds and grasses)

10am

Morning tea supplied (please BYO mug and folding chair)

10.30am

The Planting!
(Banksias, tea trees, lomandras, flax lilies, knobby matt rush and more!)

11.45am

Finish and pack up tools

12 midday

Depart

Please register each participant separately. If this is your first activity with the Friends of Tomaree NP, you will asked to supply your contact details and those of an emergency contact who is not at this activity.

Once you register, you will receive an email with all information here, Friends of Tomaree contact info, what to wear and bring (closed shoes, long trousers, byo mug and chair), and more.

This is an activity of the Friends of Tomaree National Park. We are a voluntary group of the community-based National Parks Association (Hunter Branch) who believe in protection of nature through action, whether on the ground or through advocacy.

We are managed and supported by the National Parks and Wildlife Service in our regular work on the park.

Our web information is kindly hosted on the website of EcoNetwork Port Stephens www.ecops.au at www.ecops.au/fotnp as we are also an affiliate group of EcoNetwork who this year, 2023, are celebrating their 30 years of advocacy, action and education.
