Event description

Can you hear her?

There is a wild woman calling you by name in your most inconvenient moments.

Trust that her whisper can reach you through the walls of your domestic life, arriving in your dreams.

I commend you for not running at first, wild and naked with desire out of your life to meet her, tearing at your hair, in ecstatic freedom...

But eventually, you will.

We all secretly long to go sneaking off into the forest, howling under the light of the full moon when our family has gone safely to sleep and we are wild with insomnia.

You cannot get this wrong, because the one stirring the fire inside casting dreamlike shadows has been waiting for you a long, long time…

Wild Woman reclaim your throne

Wild Woman come home.

~Marya Stark~

At this very special Red Tent Aotearoa circle we will be learning about the Power of the Wild Woman.

The time is now.

She is YOU.

Our special guest this month is Julia Grāter.

Julia is a wild woman, inspired by Mother Nature, led by her intuition.

She canceled her 9-5 full-time job back in Germany to follow her instincts and create projects of the heart. She is a holistic yoga teacher, hosts women's circles, workshops, and retreats. She holds wisdom about sacred womanhood, sexuality, and the unlimited power of the wild woman. Next to trainings her biggest teacher was and still is life. She made it her journey to share her experiences, learnings, and tools and to hold space for true expression and connection. Through techniques like journaling, pranayama, meditation, mantras, movement, and further sacred rituals she inspires self-love, self-care, and self-expression. Julia empowers women to unapologetically commit to their unique beauty & power.

Join us at Red Tent Aotearoa on Sunday 8th August from 3-6 pm for The Power of The Wild Woman.

At this Red Tent Circle, we will be talking about the Power of the Wild Woman, we will explore the possibility of living a full life without the shackles of others’ expectations and the freedom of authentic expression with more confidence and healthy boundaries.

We will also be introducing you to the  Wild Woman Workshop Series:

About the Red Tent: What women want is CONNECTION. Not on a superficial level, but REAL connection and support.

The Red Tent is a place for women to feel that connection and to offer and receive that support.

We want to help women to free themselves from the isolation of today’s modern world and find their tribe. Red Tent Aotearoa has the aim to connect, collaborate, and create a community of strong and educated women in a supportive & nurturing environment.

We establish community networks and support between women by hosting local gatherings, and events in what we call “Red Tents.”Red Tent Aotearoa is not religious, we invite anyone who identifies as female from 11 years + from all walks of life.

It’s our hope for everyone who enters each Red Tent to experience a sense of belonging, sisterhood, and strength that stays with them from then on.

FAQ: What is the Red Tent and what do you do there?

The Red Tent movement is worldwide and stemmed from the book The Red Tent written by Anita Diamond. Red Tents are spaces created by women, for women to come each month and share their stories, relax, feel nurtured, seen, and heard. There is nothing required of you and the main goal is for you to relax, recharge and reset. Each month at Red Tent Aotearoa is different, we invite a different woman each month to share her experience and interest with us so that we all can learn and become more confident. Some of our themes in the past have been; The Power of Pleasure, The Power of Identity, The Power of the Spoken Word, The Power of Positive Touch, The Power of Humility. Our belief is that 'Power-with' instead of 'Power-over' will change the world.

Who is the host and why does she do this?

Jill Genet is the Founder of Red Tent Aotearoa and Red Tent Australia. She is a Holistic Counsellor and Business Mentor with Conscious Consulting NZ. Born in Ōtauhtahi, she left when she was 18 and returned 28 years later in 2020. Jill is a community-focused change-maker with a devotion to non-profit organisations and a passion for non-violent communication. She has dedicated the last 8 years of her life to starting, growing, and sharing Red Tent Australia and now Red Tent Aotearoa as non-profit organisations that help start and support the birthing of Red Tent circles all over the country. Jill believes in the power of Red Tent circles to heal the women of the world and in doing so the ripple effect will be felt across the globe.
