About the Venue - Bucketty's Brewing Co, Brookvale

There is so much to learn about Bucketty's and its humble beginnings.  It's a family owned business with much blood, sweat and tears making it what it is today.

I can't think of a better place for Story Room Aus to call home, after-all beer and stories are like peas in a pod, they just fit perfectly.

    The Food

Check out the menu. You certainly won't starve to death while you listen to some great stories. We are however trying to learn how many people might buy meals, as Nick the owner will open the food truck especially for us.

    Kim Miller

I am a social worker, educator, researcher and learner. Since 1999 I’ve used stories to teach students and to help people understand the issues of poverty, human trafficking, modern slavery, homelessness and environmental injustice from a different perspective. At Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation, where I am the Schools and Partnership Coordinator, I harness the power of storytelling to engage students and adults alike and to help shape them into caring individuals with the power to create change in our society. Right now, I also use stories to quiet voices in my own head that tell me “I can’t” and to prove that actually, I can!

    Justin Cooper

Author of ‘Marketing is Dead, Long Live Purposing,’ Justin spent the first 25 years of his career as a marketer in global and small business, before seeing the light and switching to leveraging mindfulness to help people and businesses to discover their purpose and use it to make a difference.

Justin has spoken at a number of business events over the past 10 years – on the power of Purpose as the foundation for business success and personal fulfilment.

He is the co-founder of Unearthd, a professional development organisation whose purpose is to help business leaders, employees and teams to find greater purpose, fulfilment, and success by doing the work they were born to do.

    Dr fLorence Cotel

Dr fLorence Cotel is a neuroscientist on a mission to stop burnout. She was at the peak of her career when burnout disrupted her life, rendering her unfit for work. After a year of rest, she was advised to rest longer. That was it! She had had enough of being a vegetable in a bed, unable to think, talk or remember simple things. The decision was taken; she would find a better way to recover drawing upon her knowledge of the brain and physical training. Step by step she regained her strength and went on to push her own limits by completing an Ironman, long distance triathlon (3.8k swim, 180k bike, 42.2 run). Driven by an unwavering commitment to prevent others from experiencing severe burnout, she designed a step by step method to prevent burnout and now dedicates her life to helping others (drflorencecotel.com).
