    Event description

Wanting to do our bit to keep our wonderful native animals safe & raise some bush fire preparedness tips - we invite you to Wildwood's first Wombat and Wallaby Wine Mixer.

It will be fun day in the bush - with all our lawn games out and and bbq on, cooking delicious local sausage sizzles. We will have the tunes going and the bar open to purchase a tipple including some of of our newest cocktail creations.

We welcome you to wear your best cowboy boots to the day. As what better shoe to kick off the summer parties in?!

$20 donations for Adults, $10 for children and $50 for families of 4 include a sausage sizzle and an ice cream + a chance to explore the grounds and maybe spot a wombat or wallaby yourself! All proceeds raised will go directly to Friends of the Brush Trail Rock Wallaby and The Wisdom Wombat Refuge.

NOTE: If you can organise pack your cars tight with passengers we would be grateful as we want to see as many of you as our carpark will allow.

    WHY ARE WE RAISING MONEY?

Earlier this year, when we realised that one of our favourite Wildwood wombats had mange both Lyn and Kate sprang into action like a hospital ER team - and spent the week coming down to tend and care in a way that really touched us. We are proud to have neighbours who take it on themselves to look after and protect these valley locals.

Even though these volunteers donate their time and the petrol to get to us - the medicines are not free and helping fund these, straw, food are just some of the things your ticket price will go to.

Similarly, the friends of the brush tail rock wallaby spend their time creating safe environments for all native animals that are hunted by foxes and feral cats. We love going on walks around Wildwood and spotting echidnas, wallabies, lyre birds, goannas and other uniquely Australian animals and want that to be the case for many generations to come. The rock wallaby's environment is already severely diminished and we hope by supporting this group we see more of them in the valley over time.

Both these groups, as well as some of our local Fire Fighters will be at the event to learn more about way to keep animals and places in and around the valley safe.

    Our Partners
