What creates a toxic culture?

Why do some workplaces become difficult environments to even remain pleasant with each other; stopping groups from becoming teams; stopping people and organisations from reaching their full potential?

We are delighted to have Neuro Leadership Coach, Dave Sewell returning to Future of Business in July. Dave introduces a new way of looking at culture; understanding where toxicity comes from and how to identify if elements of it are present in an organisation.

Author of Safe Leadership – beating stress to drive performance, Dave explains the four reward hormones in the brain that shape our behaviour when we are calm and positive. When we face stressful situations we shift into flight, fight, freeze or forget mode and stop working at peak performance. Dave coaches
leaders and colleagues to recognise the signs in each of those stages so they can help and support teams to move back to a positive (and performing) state as quickly as possible.

Dave is a talented presenter and storyteller, bringing to life his leadership research, tools and methodologies through real life examples and a good dose of humour. His unique ability to connect with his audience ensures an engaging and relevant presentation is guaranteed. This fully interactive session will help identify potential risk areas within any organisation and gain some easily actionable takeaways.

When he’s not talking about leadership and helping teams, Dave spends his free time with his family; his wife Kirsty and his two sons Lachlan and Jamie. His other interests are meditating and energetic healing, hiking, mountain biking, coaching his sons football team and Xbox gaming.
