Thriving in the Desert: An Educational Women’s Retreat
Event description
Unplug and connect with other women for an empowering educational weekend! Camp at the beautiful Lost Horse Campground in Joshua Tree National Park and spend the weekend hiking, bonding around a campfire, and sharing meals. Instruction covers foundations of safe (and fun) outdoor adventures.

- This excursion is suitable for intermediate to experienced outdoor enthusiasts.
- This class is an inclusive experience open to women and gender-diverse attendees (see gender policy below).
- Entry to Joshua Tree National Park is included in the cost of enrollment.
- No meals or equipment are provided.
- Participants are responsible for their own transportation. Carpooling is encouraged.
This class is strenuous. It requires 5 or more miles of walking which may include several hours outdoors in the elements, significant elevation gain, and variable terrain. You will need personal equipment.
Desert Institute's women's events are open to women and gender-diverse attendees. These events are not open to men, including cisgender men and binary transgender men. By registering, you agree to this gender policy and commit to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive space for all attendees.
