Discover the incredible birds, geology, and human history of the Salton Sea! This class covers the importance of this migratory stop along the Pacific Flyway. Expect to see geese, sandhill cranes, and many more of the over 400 bird species recorded at the sea.
- This field class takes place at the Salton Sea.
- Anyone may attend! No expertise or experience is required.
- No park pass is required.
- No meals or equipment are provided.
- Participants caravan in their personal vehicles. Carpooling is recommended.
This class is leisurely. It requires less than 2 miles of walking with shade, seating, consistent terrain, and little to no elevation gain. Class caravans from Palm Desert to the Salton Sea and students will use their own vehicles for transportation.
