Learn about the ecology of desert bighorn sheep and the techniques used to monitor and understand desert bighorn sheep. This class covers behavior, population health, and habitat connectivity. Take this information into an important movement corridor to spot the clues used to track herds, from fecal pellets to bedding sites.

  • The lecture portion of this class takes place via Zoom.
  • The outdoor portion takes place at Sheep Hole Pass in Joshua Tree National Park.
  • Anyone may attend! No expertise or experience is required.
  • Entry to Joshua Tree National Park is included in the cost of enrollment.
  • No meals or equipment are provided.

This class is leisurely. It requires less than 2 miles of walking with shade, seating, consistent terrain, and little to no elevation gain. Class will meet at headquarters and caravan to Sheeps Hole Pass about 30 minutes from 29 Palms.
