Tides & Terroir

The inaugural Tides & Terroir festival is a two-day celebration of the Monterey coast — its wines, its food, its makers, and the multigenerational farming community that has shaped one of California’s most distinctive food-and-wine regions. Both days unfold at Asilomar State Beach & Conference Grounds, Monterey Peninsula’s “Refuge by the Sea.”

On Friday evening, October 16, the weekend opens with A Coastal Table — a six-course candlelit dinner in Merrill Hall. Five celebrated chefs, from Monterey to Big Sur, bring the coast’s ingredients to one community table, paired with three generational winemaking families: Caraccioli Cellars, Pisoni Family Vineyards, and ROAR Wines. Music provided by the Monterey Symphony, live entertainment by Carmel Delights Dance Company. One coastal story worth sitting down for. 5:30-9 pm

Featured Chefs: Justin Cogley, Aubergine; Jonny Black, Chez Noir; Amalia Scataena, Stationaery; Chef Hollie Jackson; Ron Mendoza, Ad Astra; and Klaus Georis, Maligne.

On Saturday, October 17, the celebration moves outside to Asilomar’s Cypress Meadow for Tasting at the Tides. 25 wineries pouring alongside local chefs serving gourmet bites, artisan makers, live music, and the Pacific just steps away. 12-3 pm
