Description

This workshop is the first in our 12-month program of expert-led workshops presented by the Huon Women's Health Collective

Well Women, Well Communities

Thanks to funding from the Huon Valley Council Liveability Fund, this FREE morning workshop celebrates the vital role that women and gender-diverse people play as caregivers, leaders, advocates and the heart of our rural communities.

Workshop #1 - Tools for Mental Health Support

Taking a strengths-based approach to mental health, this workshop focuses on what is already working in our community by recognising and celebrating the many ways women and gender-diverse people are connected, capable and resilient. Together, we will build on these existing strengths to further enhance wellbeing, belonging and community resilience.

Guided Interactive Practices

As part of the Tools for Mental Health morning, folks will be invited into a series of carefully facilitated, experiential sessions designed to nurture connection, creativity and mental wellbeing.

The workshop unfolds across three integrated modules, delivered in separate time slots to allow for flexible and accessible attendance. While each module flows naturally into the next, they can also be experienced as powerful stand-alone sessions.

After a warm welcome and gentle orientation into the space, participants may choose to participate in any or all of the following offerings:

Welcome to Country

SETAC (South East Tasmanian Aboriginal Corporation)

Mapping and Tending our Inner Fire

with Miriam McCormack

Participants will be invited to explore their inner landscape through a Body Centred Grounding Practice, followed by an introduction to female centred mental health and a creative process to help identify existing support networks and recognise areas of additional support needs.

Creative grounding practices will be woven throughout supporting expression beyond words and encouraging embodied reflection.

Mindful Breathwork & Somatic Regulation

with Karlyn Digitalis

This session is an invitation to reconnect with the innate wisdom of the body through gentle, trauma-aware breathwork and body-based practices that help regulate the nervous system, reduce stress and build everyday resilience.

Together we'll explore how something as simple as the breath can become an anchor during times of uncertainty, how cultivating body awareness can deepen our capacity for presence, and how small, intentional practices can nurture resilience from the inside out.  Accessible and adaptable, they are designed to be easily woven into the rhythm of everyday life.

Frequency Magic!

with Brook River

Together we discover the transformational power of syncing the cycles for mental health, healing and harmony - the cycles of the moon, the menstrual cycle, the earth’s seasons and our life seasons, offer a potent grounding into the present moment for being with what is - rather than thinking something may be 'wrong'.

These cycles offer an opportunity for us to map our personal terrain, supporting us to live deeply in aligned harmony to self and place, within and without.

Come share in mapping this Frequency Magic ! Then we'll take a drum journey to connect and listen to our Inner Guide, and bring back the guidance required for this time.

Closing & Integration

We will then conclude the session with a gentle closing ceremony and group somatic embodiment practice to ground before leaving the space.
