Kinship Kinglake: Tour Victoria's First Earthship
Description
Come on a tour of Victoria’s first Earthship, 'Kinship', in picturesque Kinglake, with owner/builder Daryl Taylor.
Kinship is a post-Black Saturday, eco-resilient design response to extreme bushfire threat and rapid climate disruption which has been featured across a wide range of media (including ABC Radio National, RRR FM, The Australian, The Age and The Sustainable Living Festival).
Daryl leads 3.5 hour Kinship Tours that showcase the restorative and regenerative design and re-development of the Kinship property, the features of its biotecture and permaculture-inspired design systems, and the vision for our wider social and ecological community development projects.
Tours include:
detailed inspection of our global model Earthship and outline of biotecture design,
detailed inspection of the biotecture retrofit of our solar-passive mud-brick house,
extensive open discussion of the processes and concepts that inform the project,
Q & A sessions on planning, building and environmental health approvals, and
opportunities to learn, experience and try out natural building techniques.
