Event description

Join us at Good Bank Gallery to Connect and collaborate with artist Mark Timberlake, along with local artists from Community Contemporary Inc. and environmental stewards from The Wild South & Experiencing Marine Sanctuaries to make ocean-themed illuminated sculptures and lanterns for the TOXIC SURF Roving Community Art Oceanic Lantern Performance.

TOXIC SURF is a community-led movement that serves as a platform to illuminate the complexity and interconnectedness of our fragile ecosystems, urging a deeper understanding of the invisible threads that link land, water, fire and climate. Together, we tell the story of the harmful algal bloom Karenia Mikimotoi and its devastating impact on South Australia's Coast and community.

Everyone is welcome as every voice matters regardless of age, artistic skill and ability.

Check out the other TOXIC SURF events including:

TOXIC SURF Film Screenings - Join us for a special film screening showcasing local voices and narratives that span environmental action through the surfing community, featuring the films: Sea-Sick by Surfers for Climate, and A Monument to Triggs Two by Henry Jock Walker and Open Space Contemporary Arts.

TOXIC SURF Art and Eco-Resilience Workshop - creatively engage in a coastal-theme restorative art session including painting and storytelling. An opportunity to explore our interconnectedness with the natural world and active hope as we face this ecological crisis.
