Trans Justice Canberra - Welcome and Workshop

In one of the big rooms we'll be talking about fighting misinformation.

In another room we'll be writing letters and cards, calling on Tim Nicholls to overturn the ban on gender-affirming care for trans and gender diverse kids in QLD. We have some craft supplies for a theme - sending him hearts, since clearly he doesn't have one of his own.

The Downer Community Centre has toilets, but unfortunately they are not accessible!

We'll have some light snacks.

We'll supply surgical masks and hand sanitiser. If you feel unwell or are a close contact of someone who has recently had COVID, please stay home!

Right now, trans rights are under attack. Trans kids' access to healthcare has been posted up for debate, and we need to bring our community around. It's time for all allies to join in and fight transphobia. 

If you want to help, but you don't know where to start -

If you're a seasoned trans rights enthusiast, and want to plan actions together - 

Join Trans Justice Canberra at the Downer Community Centre from 6-7:30pm Sunday 16 February. 

We'll be talking:

• misinformation and disinformation
• how our community conversations shape public opinion
• strategies and tips for dealing with transphobic talking points

You'll have the option to role-play difficult conversations, particularly around why gender-affirming care for trans kids is less complicated than transphobes like to say it is. 

We'll also have a side session to write to Queensland Minister for Health (Tim Nicholls MP) to lift the Queensland ban on public access to puberty blockers and HRT for under 18s.
