Twisty Pamphlet Books Done Two Ways with Debra Wuliger
Event description
Saturday, September 13th
10 AM - 1 PM
Ages 18+
$40
This class is presented in conjunction with Eno Arts Mill's September gallery show featuring Triangle Book Arts.
About the Class:
Pamphlet books are made with one sheet of paper that has been folded, cut along one of it’s folds and twisted into a small booklet. It’s a simple, straightforward process but just the beginning of the book making fun. In this class we will be painting each sheet of paper a different way, using these to create the pages, and creating a collaged cover for the finished book. Making these books is a fun way to play and there's no "wrong way" to do it. All skill levels are appropriate and all supplies are provided.
About the Artist: Debra Wulinger
From Debra's website:
"My art practice is a quiet, reflective process where I listen and observe the undivided whole in flowing movement. I paint Infinite Intelligence’s love, joy and peace vibrations. From my center, down my arm, to my hand, through the charcoal to the canvas,
I convert these vibrations into harmonious, rhythmic shapes and geometric patterns appear on the canvas. First, as a charcoal line drawing where the shapes begin to vibrate in relationship to each other.
This vibration intensifies as I bring color and form to the geometric pattern, resulting in hard edge, geometric, abstract and figurative oil paintings. In the series, "Harmonic Vibration Patterns" my intuitive work blends with objective scientific thought to explore the Universe as light and sound vibrations and how these vibrations cause matter to take form.
I currently live in Durham, North Carolina with my husband, Joel and my dog, Tessa."
