    Event description

Don't miss out on two days of precious wisdom teachings with a world-renown Tibetan Buddhist meditation master and teacher!

Lama Choedak Rinpoche will be visiting the Central Coast for one weekend only this year, and Saturday and Sunday (31st August & 1st September 2024) he will give wisdom teachings from the spiritual song, The Great Melody of Experience by Jetsun Drakpa Gyaltsen.

The Great Melody of Experience is a spiritual song written by a 12th century Tibetan monk, Jetsun Drakpa Gyaltsen, (1147-1216). He is the 3rd of the five founding Sakya masters of the Sakyapa Order of Tibetan Buddhism.

There was no time when Jetsun Drakpa Gyaltsen was not in meditative state of the profound view of emptiness, while radiating infinite loving kindness and compassion. It is believed that he did 70 different deity yoga Sadhanas each day with uninterrupted pure vision experiences of profound realizations.

Jetsun Drakpa Gyaltsen also became a prolific author of many important works.  Among many of his pure visions in which he received precious teachings, the pure vision of his father, Sachen Kunga Nyingpo in Nyemo Rutsam is an exceptional experience which influenced him to compose The Clear Meaning of Signs attributed to the Lamdre teachings.

Lama Choedak Rinpoche has translated The Great Melody of Experience into English, and during this special weekend of teachings he will give a clear and concise explanation of the text. This will rekindle the precious moment when the late Chogye Trichen Rinpoche taught on the text in Melbourne in 2001. Like Theri Gathas in Theravada Buddhism, Dohas among Indian Mahasiddhas, Nyam-yang and Gur are their equivalent in Tibetan Buddhism, like The Hundred Thousand Songs of Milarepa

Join us for an unforgettable and rare opportunity to hear wisdom teachings from Lama Choedak Rinpoche that will enlighten your mind, and refresh your perspective on life and its meaning.

The teachings will go from 9.30am - 4.30pm each day. It is recommended to attend both Saturday & Sunday to receive the most benefit from the teachings, but you can attend for one day also.

You will receive The Great Melody of Experience booklet, and a vegetarian lunch and morning & afternoon teas will be provided on each day.
