Universal Design for Learning (UDL) workshops

Explore ways of putting Universal Design for Learning (UDL) into practice.
UDL is a framework that helps us to create flexible and inclusive learning opportunities to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
You can register for each of the workshops individually.
A special rate is available for those who register for all four workshops.

Workshop 1 | Introduction to Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
Date: Tuesday, 4 March 2025, 12.10pm - 1pm
In this workshop we will introduce UDL and explore how it can help us proactively design for learner variability. We will also discuss strategies for getting started with UDL and provide you with pathways to further your learning.
Workshop 2 | Improving the inclusive design and teaching of learning activities
Date: Tuesday, 11 March 2025, 12.10pm - 1pm
In this workshop we will introduce a design process that you can use in any context. We will also examine common barriers in the teaching or facilitation of activities and how to minimise these barriers.
Workshop 3 | Supporting learners to organise their learning
Date: Tuesday, 18 March 2025, 12.10pm - 1pm
In this workshop we will highlight how the UDL guidelines can help us recognise barriers to learning that may lead to discrimination and exclusion and consider ways to minimise them.
Workshop 4 | Supporting learner agency
Date: Tuesday, 25 March 2025, 12.10pm - 1pm
We will discuss how the updated UDL 3.0 guidelines can help us design practice spaces for learning, where students have access to useful choices and usable supports.

Billing information
We accept payments by card or by invoice. At checkout you will be able to choose your payment option. Invoices are raised by Massey University on behalf of Ako Aotearoa so please note that there will be a delay between registering for the event and receiving the invoice.
PLEASE NOTE: Invoices are limited to payment from registered tertiary organisations only
If you would like to pay by invoice, before registering, please find out from your finance team:
- the billing address and the email address you would like the invoice sent to.
- whether or not you require a purchase number, if a purchase order number is required, please email accounts@ako.ac.nz after registering with the order number in the subject line.

If you are registering other people, please make sure to select 'Email tickets to each attendee' on the registration form so that each person receives their unique access to the online course/workshop.
Registrations close two days before the course date.
