Unpacking the Roadmap Workshop & First Nations Queer Film Screening
Description
This Pride month we're honouring First Nations ways of being and providing an opportunity for learning and cultural immersion!
Join us for a pilot session of our "Unpacking the Roadmap - Cultural Capacity Building Workshop" followed by screenings of First Nations LGBTIQA+ films.
We have developed this workshop to facilitate better social and emotional wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTIQA+ peoples by building cultural capacity and inclusivity specifically within community service organisations.
This workshop role models strength based approaches as highlighted in the Roadmap we work together to find ways we can incorporate the actions from the Roadmap in our roles, our organisations and our personal lives to ensure we are safe people and provide services which are intersectional, welcoming, trust-based and culturally responsive. This is also an opportunity for relationship building across the ACCOs and non-Indigenous community service organisations, creating a share language/understanding for any services that First Nations LGBTIQA+ people may choose to access.
Stick around after the workshop to experience storytelling and truth-telling by watching some First Nations LGBTIQA+ Films, film names to be released soon 👀
Tickets are free for First Nations folks (people who work at ACCOs or Aboriginal Medical Services) and pay as you like for allies/Non-Indigenous folks.
Tickets for good, not greed Humanitix dedicates 100% of profits from booking fees to charity
