Rosi Griffin is a visual artist who is constantly looking for unique urban situations and architectural gems in her everyday surroundings. She works across a range of media including drawing, painting, photography, collage and installation.
In this fun workshop you will learn the process of creating a watercolour painting of an urban scene with the focus on the Australian beach shack. Rosi Griffin will be demonstrating different techniques starting with a pencil drawing to applying various watercolour washes and final details. This is an excellent workshop for someone who is thinking about producing a visual travelling diary or who is interested in painting the urban environment.
Bring a few photos or sketches of places that have meaning to you, an interesting house, a particular street scene or a favourite city view.

How to get started with watercolours, the basics about brushes, paints and paper variety
How to plan your watercolour and create an interesting composition
How to paint lively surfaces using interesting watercolour washes
How to create more dramatic atmosphere in your urban landscape with strong shadow effects and the use of glazing
