Urban Sketch meet up Sydney
Event description
Join us for a free day of art, culture and connection!
You will be guided on how to observe, record and get curious about your surroundings with art as your tool.
Spend a Saturday slowing down, getting curious and paying attention to the world around you in this third urban sketching meet up. It will be a day to explore many possibilities of creativity all whilst connecting to nature in an urban environment.
The sketching meet up will give you a chance to practice your sketching, observational and nature journaling skills. Those new to drawing are encouraged to attend to cultivating new skills in an inclusive and supportive setting under my guidance. All ages and experience welcomed but please note that this is a meet up and not quite a class or workshop. Bringing your own basic sketching materials is necessary to participate.
Location: Sydney CBD - with the location TBC near The Domain.
Time: 2pm - 3:30pm (approx)
Bring: BYO art materials, something to sit on, water, snacks.
This event is FREE yet donation based if you feel like supporting me on coordinating these community events and providing professional guidance during the session. Donations are of course not essential.
An extra activity may be coordinated either side of the art meet up such as a visit to a near by gallery - that will be shared closer to the date.

ABOUT THE ARTIST/HOST:
Bianca Yrure is a Spanish Filipino artist, born and living on Dharug Country (Western Sydney) Australia. Since graduating with a Bachelor of Visual Arts from The University of Sydney in 2017, she has been involved in numerous exhibitions across Australia. Her practice is multidisciplinary, encompassing painting, drawing, photography, illustration, sculpture and installation. Bianca’s subjects heavily revolve around nature as a sacred space for contemplation and reflection, alluding to the interconnections and oneness of all living things. Her creative practice involves responding to the environment through immersing herself in the landscape. Her art is an ode to our beautiful and fragile places, and the seen and unseen beings that inhabit them and keep them thriving.
Bianca begun hosting art and nature workshops in 2023 and is now building and nurturing an arts community to host further workshops, exhibitions, events and immersive retreats in 2025.
