Vase workshop with Alex Prentice

In the workshop we will revise the skills of "bellying out" and "collaring in" to create simple vases. Then the two skills will be combined to create graceful vases.

This workshop is for people that have confidently mastered making a cylinder and want to experience the thrill of altering its shape. It is an ideal follow on for those who attended the "Milk Jug" workshop in 2023.

The prerequisite is to be able to confidently throw a cylinder of 15cm in height.

Things to bring:

• Sponge on a stick/meat skewer
• Wooden kitchen spoon or dessert spoon
• Batts
• Metal trimming tool (long pointed one if you have it)
• Kidney tool
• Clay
• 2 containers for slops
